By now we alll know how much I love disco. What a tragedy it is that Robin Gibb would pass one short week after Donna Summer. It's sad but the least I can do here is honor Robin Gibb with 2 favorite BeeGee songs!

Does a flourless cake have less carbs than a regular cake?? Please say yesss. At this point it doesn't really matter the majority of the cake is gone. I was in the mood to try something a lil different and I found a rather easy recipe.Here it is, a simple straight to the point recipe, just like I like it.
For reasons completely unbeknownst to me I completely forgot to melt the butter in while the chocolate was on the double broiler. No problem,the chocolate stayed warm enough for me to melt in afterward.
I didn't use a
whisk to beat in the egg because I knew the chocolate would get stuck
in it. Always make sure your chocolate has cooled off before you start
mixing the eggs in,or they will curdle.
Here is my final product. I didn't have an 8 inch pan so I had to use 2 smaller pans.... Ok It's been way to hot to cook here. So I have actually been trying to stay out of the kitchen, I do kinda have a hunkering for some fried bananas tho...
Like everyone else in the world I am devastated by the loss of Donna Summers. I looove disco, if you ask me what period in time would I go back to? I'm always gonna say sometime between 1977-1985, the disco era. In honor of her memory I have for you my 2 favorite Donna Summers songs!

all the time and I thought I was doing good because the ingredients
are:wheat flour, water, sourdough cultures and salt. I did a little
research because I wanted to know if wheat flour was as good as whole

Recently I made my very first focaccia. It was not as difficult as I thought it would be and really rather scrumptious. Here is the recipe. I didn't wanna use the onions and stuff so I swapped it out for rosemary, basil and feta.
Really not a difficult dough to work with, just remember to oil the bowl as well as your hands.
I think this was before I let it rest and rise.
It's a little hard to make dents in it because it just pops right back.
Ohh it's sinfully delicious, perfect for sandwiches.
I don't know if you know but I'm a HUGE Will Ferrell fan. So naturally when Casa Di Mi Padre came out I had to see it. Southwestern spin, I got the idea to lay it out like this from a friend of in who caters in Michigan. Dressing of course on the side so the salad doesn't get soggy.
The medi melt sliders, fresh basil on top. This is cocktail bread, have you ever used that for a slider? next time I'm using buns, they happen to be a bit more moist.

Last weekend I catered an event at a cute little gallery in Bucktown. You'll have to forgive me because I didn't take hardly any pics of the process, but I'll be back later this week with the finished product pics.
Here's what I made:
Sweet Sticky thang- slowcooked bbq chicken & grn onions baked in a wonton wrapper then brushed with a "secret sauce" I can't reveal whats in the sauce, if I do ppl will come to your door and audit you!!
Scone from down home- a sweet potato chocolate chunk scone, you can check out the recipe here.
Southwestern Spin- A southwestern salad with all the trimmings and a homemade dressing w/ cilantro,crushed red pepper,olive oil,salt and garlic pepper
Medi melt sliders- an eggplant slider with mozzarella, roasted basiled eggplant and peppers.

The chicken only cooked for about 3.5 hrs
Aww that dressing was sooo good!
RIght befor the eggplant went it, it bakes on 350 for about 10 mins.

A few weeks ago I bought a groupon for a sweet lil place I'd never been to called Risque Cafe , very cute spot. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was out of sight!
Aren't the menus adorable? and that sandwich, whew and they had 3 different types of bbq sauce, which my fries wound up swimming in! I even had a delicious vodka lemonade and a large order of mac n'cheese to go;and still only went a $1 over my groupon value!
The remains. Man this place is a nice little gem centered in the lakeview area. Now I have a spot to go to when I'm around lakeview and it's late, I'm going for another blackened chicken burger,and I.can't.wait.
